While not the same scale as the bullshit in Robby’s post below, I have to say I was pretty upset with this piece by Gary Randall of Faith and Freedom. After rote expressions of sorrow for Dr. Tiller’s family, he decided to say he hopes it isn’t politicized:
I would also pray that abortionist activists do not try to capitalize
on this tragedy and silence anti-abortion views, particularly during
the hearings on Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.
Christ on the Cross. I hope you wouldn’t politicize it! Maybe that would have any sort of meaning if you hadn’t called the fucking piece, “Late-Term Abortionist George Tiller Shot at Church Yesterday.” Maybe if you hadn’t fucking used the most politically charged language to describe someone who had just been murdered.
Abortionist! You could have used “doctor”, “ob-gyn”, or even “abortion provider.” Really though, if you’re posting about how you hope the murder of a doctor won’t hurt your chances of blocking a Supreme Court nominee, it’s too late not to have that murder politicized.
